Our skin is one of the hardest working organs in our bodies, our skin is constantly shedding old cells and replacing them with new skin cells. Unfortunately, this process is not entirely seamless and dead skin cells have a tendency to clump and dull our complexions. At Engle Renu, we want to make this rejuvenating skin resurfacing process more efficient and effective with dermaplaning.

What Does Dermaplaning Address?

Our skin is exposed to harsh environmental toxins, irritants, and sun damage on a daily basis. When you couple these factors with the natural again process, a dull complexion is practically inevitable. Dermaplaning is a safe method of clearing away damaged skin cells so newer skin cells can take their place. The growth of these new skin cells provides a softer skin texture and restores your skin’s radiant glow. This treatment is an excellent choice for addressing both unwanted peach fuzz and hyperpigmentation.

What Happens During Treatment?

Dermaplane treatments are simple, easy, and usually do not take more than an hour. Our aesthetician will start by cleansing the skin and removing any makeup. Then they will begin working with the scalpel and hold the areas of your skin tight  to create brisk strokes on the surface of the face as the patient reclines. The sensation you will feel will be gentle and relaxing, and you may hear a dry whisper as the blade crosses the surface of your skin. When we have finished, we’ll apply a light moisturizer.

What Results Can I Expect from Dermaplaning?

The dermaplaning treatment does not require any downtime, even when coupled with our facials. While some irritation and redness may occur after your session, these side effects are temporary. The lasting effects of this procedure can be noticed for months and the removed peach fuzz will not grow back thicker or darker afterwards.
